π΄ 3 Reasons I Keep Going Back to Galveston
If you’ve been following me for any length of time, you probably already know that Galveston, Texas holds a special place in my heart. It’s not just a cruise port or a day-trip stop—it’s a vibe. Here’s why I keep going back and think you should too.
1. It’s the perfect pre-cruise or weekend getaway
Whether you’re sailing out soon or just need a slow weekend near the water, Galveston delivers. You can walk the Seawall, grab shrimp tacos, and watch the sun rise over the Gulf—all in the same day.
2. Charming historic downtown
The Strand District is full of vintage shops, cozy cafes, and local art. I always stop at Mod Coffeehouse for a lavender latte and take a stroll to find a new mural for the ‘gram. π
3. Family-friendly + budget friendly
There’s something for everyone—from the free ferry ride (hello, dolphin spotting!) to Moody Gardens and the cute mini-train at the Galveston Railroad Museum.
Bonus Tip: If you’re planning a cruise out of Galveston, consider arriving a day early and staying at one of the beachfront boutique hotels. It makes your trip feel like a vacation before the vacation. π
